AQ Biotech Oy is proud to announce the next phase of its commercial expansion in Asia. On May 8th, 2026, an agreement was officially executed with OG Pharmaceuticals to incorporate a joint venture entity: AQ Biotech Nanjing Ltd.
The two companies have a strong foundation of partnership, having worked closely together since May 2022 to validate AQ Biotech’s non-invasive, antibody-free phage-biosensor method for detecting prostate cancer within the Chinese market. Following highly successful research outcomes and joint R&D achievements, the partners are now scaling their operations by establishing a permanent, dedicated local presence in Nanjing.
Building a Next-Generation Diagnostics Platform
The core mission of AQ Biotech Nanjing Ltd will be building and deploying a comprehensive antibody-free phage-biosensor diagnostics platform tailored for the early detection of prostate and other urinary tract cancers. The entity will run continuous biomarker discovery and measurement campaigns in deep integration with local healthcare partners and AQ Biotech Global.
Under the joint venture agreement, AQ Biotech Global retains full ownership of the global IPR portfolio and technology know-how, while granting exclusive rights to AQ Biotech Nanjing Ltd for cancer detection applications in the Chinese market. Full operational setup, including automated laboratory facilities and a specialized local engineering team, is on track to be finalized still during 2026.

Crucial to the success and clinical validation of this platform is our deep-running collaboration with the Jiangsu Cancer Hospital. By integrating AQ Biotech’s innovative biotechnology and phage-biosensor method with the hospital’s world-class clinical expertise and patient cohorts, this partnership aims to significantly advance the early detection of prostate cancer. Together, we are bridging the gap between cutting-edge Nordic innovation and high-volume clinical execution to improve patient outcomes across the region.
